Join United States District Judge Xavier Rodriguez as he provides his judicial perspective on how artificial intelligence is being used in litigation, from helping to streamline complex cases to the serious limitations that legal professionals must understand. While AI can support efficiency in the courtroom, it must not be used to replace human judgement.

Cases are becoming larger due to the volume of data that goes into any type of case. The larger the case, the more difficult it is to get through the data in any reasonable amount of time or expense. AI tools can assist in the early stages of case assessment, performing tasks such as:

  • Creating a chronology of events,
  • Summarizing the data, and
  • Identifying key players in litigation.
